Interesting question and the answer is not a single number. It depends on your age!. You are born with more bones than you have as an adult, because some bones fuse together as you grow. For example, you may know that a baby’s skull is not closed after birth, because it would be too large and stiff to pass through the mother’s birth canal. So you are born with about 300 bones (and cartilages) and as an adult you have about 206-216, depending on how they are counted. Most bones are found in the hands and feet. The smallest bones are in your ear, the largest and heaviest is your thigh bone.
