I started University in 1987 when I went to Imperial College in London. I finished my undergraduate degree in 1990 and stayed there to do a PhD. I was there until the end of 1993 after which I started working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Swiss Tropical Research Institute in Basel (affiliated to Basel University). I then came back to the UK and worked at Cambridge University before moving to Durham University.
So really I have never left University since I started my first degree.
Hi 997,
like Mark, I’ve been at a University ever since I left school; first off as a Biology undergraduate student specialising in Immunology at the University of Edinburgh, then a PhD student in Edinburgh and Zimbabwe, then a postdoctoral researcher at the University of York and now in London…so so far I’ve been at University for 10 years! Even though I am not a student any more (& luckily don’t have to sit exams!), I am still learning new things all of the time.
